This is the extremely fine German Silver smaller 60 yard size 3 version never seen and a extremely Rare early reel made for Schmelzer Arms Company and cataloged 1904-07. This Vintage High grade Montague Reel comes with fancy knurling , its a fast spinning and a extremely smooth reel. This Model or example is true Kentucky style with both Clicker and brake on the beautiful reels face. The Malleson Style Unique counter balance handle is set in the early 6 O’clock position, its straight, clean and grip spins freely. The foot is finished in the early Malleson style as well. Fancy early knurled bearing covers are removable. Fantastic example of Montague's rarest and finest early 4 screw. The Leather case is also extremely rare in pretty good condition with a stubborn snap that works with some applied pressure. Note: The internal Clicker spring steel clicker wire does not function correctly but does not effect this fine old reels spinning and only the clicking sound.
