Montague "TARPON" 400 Yrd. Hard Rubber/Nickel Silver with Pflueger Williams Handle Circa-1906. So after a few weeks of research and thought I have decided this is a Montague Tarpon reel and not a Pflueger made reel. It does have the Pflueger Williams handle however. This reel is in good condition with no damage, cracks, breaks or dents in the hard rubber which is rare for these. Lets face it these reels were fished hard. The nickel silver is also in pretty good condition, However the spool does show some brassing which I believe is kind of normal for a salt water nickel spool. This reel is in great condition no doubt. The Tarpon is shown very clearly on the face hard rubber which is rare that its not worn off. The reel spins fast and smooth and the rear plate mounted clicker is extremely strong and loud. The handle is clean of defects and works perfect. The foot is clean of defects and shows the 400 yard size. This reel has not been cleaned in any way and only wiped down with a dry cloth.
