Vintage Montague Nickel Silver & Hard rubber 40 yard Trade Reel. The reel is fast and smooth. Clicker is strong and loud and brake functions perfect. The hard rubber is in great condition. The nickel finished pillars and spool are in very fine condition. The Nickel Silver removable bearing covers are neatly knurled . The Counter balanced handle is clean, straight and the grip spins freely. The foot is full length with the 40 yard spool yardage clearly showing underneath. This is considered a hard rubber Trade Reel and was sold by Hardware and Sporting good stores through-out the country in the early 1900s. NOTE: Any white on the hard rubber rim of the reel is just glare. The rims are clean of defects.
