Meisselbach & Catucci WALTONIAN No. # 31 AB contract Reel made for James Heddon & Sons Circa - 1925. This reel design followed the Blackstone design of Meisselbach reels But the end plates were made of aluminum . This reel was available from Heddon starting in 1925 and after a few years it was sold as a Meisselbach Superlite 1000 exclusively. The light weight aluminum plates on this reel did not hold up well and this reel was discontinued in 1932 . The Heddon Waltonian is considered extremely scarce by most collectors. The reel works great. Its fast and smooth spinning and functions perfectly. Cool reel.
