Meisselbach OKEH #600 Taka-Part Levelwind with Rare Original Box Circa-1925
Meisselbach OKEH #600 Taka-Part Levelwind with Rare Original Box Circa-1925. Okay, this Okeh is a very rare reel and even more rare box. Okeh #600 was the last reel design made and manufactured in the Okeh series. Probally because it was so poorly designed it did’nt survive long (2 Years) and a working Okeh #600 is nearly impossible to find today. This Taka-part is very simple to dis-assemble, simple remove the rear or tailplate main bearing screw from the shaft and you have a handful of parts. Problem is getting it back together. This example has been fished and shows a little wear but functions perfectly. There are no pillars on this reel design and only a thin wire above the level wind keeps this reel from wobbling. Again this reel has no wobble and spins fast and smooth. The rear plate clicker works strong and loud. All parts on this reel are catalog correct. The rare box is solid showing just a little storage wear but the label is pretty clean ( Note: This is only the second Okeh #600 box i have ever seen). Fantastic Rare combination.
