Julius Vom Hofe Thos. J. Conroy "Fly Reel" Patent Oct. 8, 1889 3" German Silver & Hard Rubber with Leather Case Circa-1890. This very fine Fly Reel is stamped Julius Vom Hofe PAT Oct 8' 89 along with Thos. J. Conroy. The foot is untouched and is stamped with the number 1. It measures 1 inches from inside pillar to pillar and the diameter of the side plate is 3 inches. The ebonite side plates are in terrific condition with no cracks, chips or damage. Mechanically it functions flawlessly spinning extremely smooth and with a strong working clicker. Also Aesthetically it is a jewel. Very Very Fine REEL. This reel size is very close to Salmon reel size. The Cognac leather case is also in good condition and has stored nicely.
