Extremely Rare First Model Bronson RETRIEVER No.#2900 150 Yard Jeweled Level Wind Circa-1938. The No.2900 “Retriever” was a 150-yd. size level-winding reel that was introduced in 1938 and made until it was replaced in 1941. The difference between the first and second models is the screwed in place bridge screws on the face instead of rivots as seen on the second reel model which can be seen on this website as well. A slightly larger reel, with side plates that are 2 5/8″ in diameter and with jeweled oil caps. This is a extremely clean reel example, Super fast and smooth spinning with a very strong clicker and gliding level wind. All parts including handle with yellow oversized grips are seen on this first model only, then replaced by green grips on the second model which again makes both models seen on this site catalog correct. Terrific rare early Bronson.
